Kodesh Of YAHWEH
Manifested In The Old Covenant
YAHWEH'S Ruach operating in the assembly of the Old Covenant.
And the Ruach of YAHWEH was upon Enoch, and he taught all his men the wisdom of YAHWEH and his ways, and the sons of men served YAHWEH all the days of Enoch, and they came to hear his wisdom.
Yasher 3:8
And the earth became without form, and empty; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the
Ruach of YAHWEH moved upon the face of the waters.
Bereshith (Genesis) 1:2 (YAHWEH is not only the Author of all being, but the
fountain of life and spring of motion. Dead matter would be for ever dead if HE
did not quicken it. And this makes it credible to us that YAHWEH should raise
the dead.)
And YAHWEH said, MY
Ruach shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Bereshith (Genesis) 6:3 (The blessed
Ruach strives with sinners, by
conviction and admonitions of conscience, to turn them from sin to YAHWEH.
It is the corrupt nature and inclination of the soul towards the flesh, that
oppose the Ruwach's strivings and render them ineffectual.)
And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the
Ruach of YAHWEH
is? Bereshith (Genesis) 41:38 (The
Ruach of YAHWEH puts a great excellency
upon any man.)
See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of
Yahudah (Judah): And I have filled him with the Ruach of YAHWEH, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
Shemoth (Exodus) 31:2-3 (35:31) (Those whom YAHWEH calls to any service HE
will either find, or make, fit for it.)
And Moshe (Moses) said unto him, Envy you for my sake? would YAHWEH that all HIS people were prophets,
and that YAHWEH would put HIS
Ruach upon them! Bemidbar (Numbers) 11:29 (Moshe
reproved his friend and confidant.)
And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Yisrael abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the
Ruach of YAHWEH came upon him. Bemidbar (Numbers) 24:2 (Nothing recommends
the message of YAHWEH more to the good opinion of those that look upon it at a
distance than the unity and harmony of its professors.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH came upon him, and he judged Yisrael, and went out to war: and YAHWEH delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against
Chushanrishathaim. Shophetim- (Judges) 3:10 (He first judged Yisrael, reproved
them, and reformed them, and then went out to war. This was the right method.
Let sin at home be conquered and then enemies abroad will be more easily dealt
with.
But the Ruach of YAHWEH came upon Gideon, and he blew a shofar- trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.
Shophetim 6:34 (Gideon with his shofar put life into his neighbours, YAHWEH
working in him.)
Then the Ruach of YAHWEH came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over
unto the children of Ammon. Shophetim 11:29 (YAHWEH confirmed him in his
office, and assured him of success in his undertaking.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and
Eshtaol. Shophetim13:25 (The
Ruach of YAHWEH moved Samson in the camp of Dan
to oppose the incursions of the Philistines.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and
he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
Shophetim 14:6 (Modesty and humility make up the brightest crown of great
performances.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH came upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew thirty men of them, and took their spoil, and gave change of garments unto them which expounded the riddle. And his anger was kindled, and he went up to his father's house.
Shophetim 14:19 (It were well for us if the unkindness that we meet with from
the world, and our disappointments in it, had but this good effect upon us, to
oblige us by faith and prayer to return to our heavenly Abba'S (FATHER'S) house and rest
there.)
And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the
Ruach of YAHWEH came mightily upon him, and the cords that
were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.
Shophetim 15:14 (This typified the resurrection of YAHSHUA by the power of
the Ruach of SetApart Pureness.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH will come upon you, and you shall prophesy with them, and
shall be turned into another man. SchmuEl Alef (1Samuel) 10:6 (What YAHWEH works in us by HIS
Ruach serves much
more for the confirming of faith than any thing wrought for us by HIS
providence.)
And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the
Ruach of
YAHWEH came upon him, and he prophesied among them. SchmuEl Alef
10:10 (It
was a surprise to them to see him prophesying, as it was long after when his
namesake in the New Covenant, preached that good message which he had before persecuted.

And the Ruach of YAHWEH came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.
SchmuEl Alef 11:6 (Like Sha'ul, he worked with his hands; he cared also for his
neighbour and he was zealous for the safety and honour of Yisrael.)
Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the
Ruach of YAHWEH came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
But the Ruach of YAHWEH departed from Saul, and an evil
Ruach from YAHWEH troubled
him.
SchmuEl Alef 16:13-14 (The name David signifies beloved, as he was prepared for
kingly power by YAHWEH through a pastoral life.)
And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing
as appointed over them, the
Ruach of YAHWEH was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
SchmuEl Alef 19:20 (YAHWEH put an honour upon the sons of the prophets and the
communion of saints, and showed how HE can strike an awe upon the worst of men,
by the tokens of HIS presence in the assemblies. YAHWEH magnified HIS power over
the Ruwachs of men.)
And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the
Ruach of YAHWEH was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
SchmuEl Alef 19:23 (One who have thought that so bad a man as Saul was in no
danger of being turned into a prophet, yet he prophesies, as his messengers
did.)
The Ruach of YAHWEH spake by me, and HIS Word was in my tongue SchmuEl- Bet 23:2 (It
is an account of his communion with YAHWEH.)
And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, that the
Ruach of YAHWEH shall carry
you whither I know not; and
so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find you, he shall slay me: but I
YOUR servant fear YAHWEH from my youth. Melechim Alef (Kings) 18:12 (Testimony
of YAHWEH'S power.)
But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the
Ruach of YAHWEH from me to speak unto
you? Melechim Alef (Kings) 22:24 (also Divre Hayamim Bet (Chronicles) 18:23) (Zedekiah,
a wicked prophet, impudently insulted him in the face of the court, smote him on
the cheek, to silence him and stop his mouth.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH came upon Azariah the son of Oded: Divre Hayamim Bet 15:1
(The Ruach of YAHWEH came upon the prophet both to instruct him what he should
say and to enable him to say it with clearness and boldness.)
Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the
Ruach of YAHWEH in the midst of the congregation;
Divre Hayamim Bet 20:14 (Before the congregation was dismissed
they had assurance given them that they should be victorious; for it is never in
vain to seek YAHWEH.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the kohen
(priest), which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith
YAHWEH, Why transgress you the Commandments of YAHWEH, that you cannot prosper? because
you have forsaken YAHWEH,
HE hath also forsaken you. Divre Hayamim Bet 24:20 ( It is the
work of ministers to bring people , not to themselves, but to YAHWEH-to bring
those again to HIM who have gone a-whoring from HIM.)

Ruach HE hath garnished the heavens; HIS hand hath formed the crooked
serpent Iyob (Job) 26:13 (If the visible heavens be so wonderful, what are
those that are out of sight?)
All the while my breath is in me, and the
Ruach of YAHWEH is in my nostrils;
Iyob 27:3 The Ruach of YAHWEH has made me, and the breath of the Almighty (El Shaddai) hath given me life.
33:4 If HE set HIS heart upon man, if HE gather unto himself HIS
Ruach and HIS breath;
34:14 (YAHWEH is our very breath.)
Cast me not away from YOUR presence; and take not YOUR SetApart (Qadash)
Ruach from me.
Tehillim (Psalms) 51:11 (We are undone if YAHWEH should take HIS SetApart
Ruach
from us.)
YOU send forth YOUR Ruach, they are created: and you renew the face of the earth.

Whither shall I go from YOUR
Ruach? or whither shall I flee from YOUR presence?

Teach me to do YOUR will; for YOU are my YAHWEH: YOUR
Ruach is perfect; lead me into the land of uprightness.

Ruach of discipline will flee deceit, and remove from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide when unrighteousness cometh in. Wisdom 1:5
And hardly do we guess aright at things that are upon earth, and with labour do we find the things that are before us: but the things that are in heaven who hath searched out? Wisdom 9:16

And YAHWEH heard her voice. Therefore when she was led to be put to death, YAHWEH raised up the
SetApart

And the Ruach of YAHWEH shall rest upon him, the
Ruach of wisdom and understanding, the
Ruach of counsel and might, the
Ruach of knowledge and of the fear of YAHWEH;
YeshaYahu (Isaiah) 11:2 (He shall have the
Ruach not by measure, but without
measure, the fullness of YAHWEH dwelling in HIM.)
Woe to the rebellious children, saith YAHWEH, that take counsel, but not of ME; and that cover with a covering, but not of
MY Ruach, that they may add sin to sin: YeshaYahu (Isaiah) 30:1 (Their
covering was too short a covering and a refuge of lies.)
Until the Ruach be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
YeshaYahu 32:15 (That pouring out of YAHWEH'S
Ruach speaks not only of the
perfect-will of YAHWEH toward us, but the perfect work of YAHWEH in us.)
Seek you out of the Book of YAHWEH, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for
MY mouth it hath commanded, and HIS
Ruach it hath gathered them. YeshaYahu

(What YAHWEH'S Word has appointed HIS
Ruach will effect and bring about, for
no Word of YAHWEH shall fall to the ground.)
The grass withers, the flower fades: because the
Ruach of YAHWEH blows upon it: surely the people
is grass. YeshaYahu 40:7(the power of man, when it does appear against the
deliverance, is not to be feared; for it shall be as grass before the Word of
YAHWEH; it shall wither and be trodden down.)
Who hath directed the Ruach of YAHWEH, or being HIS counsellor hath taught HIM?
YeshaYahu 40:13 (As none can do what YAHWEH has done, so none can suggest
anything to HIM which HE thought not of.)
Behold MY servant, whom I uphold; MINE elect, in whom MY soul delights; I have put
MY Ruach upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. YeshaYahu 42:1(Infinite
wisdom made the choice and then avowed it.)
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour
MY Ruach upon your seed, and MY blessing upon your offspring: YeshaYahu 44:3
(Those that are sensible of their spiritual wants, and the insufficiency of
the creature to supply them, shall have abundant satisfaction in YAHWEH.)
Come you near unto ME, hear you this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there
am I: and now the Sovereign YAHWEH, and HIS
Ruach, hath sent me. YeshaYahu

(Those that draw nigh to YAHWEH may depend on this, that HIS secret shall be
with them.)
So shall they fear the NAME of YAHWEH from the west, and HIS honour from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the
Ruach of YAHWEH shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in
Ya'aqob, saith YAHWEH. As for
ME, this
is MY Covenant with them, saith YAHWEH; MY
Ruach that is upon you, and MY Words which I have put in
your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of
your seed's seed, saith YAHWEH, from henceforth and for ever. YeshaYahu 59:19-21 (The
Ruach of YAHWEH shall come to us to be our sanctifier.)
The Ruach of the Sovereign YAHWEH is upon ME; because YAHWEH hath anointed ME to preach good tidings unto the meek;
HE hath sent ME to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to
them that are bound; YeshaYahu 61:1 (The prophets had the
Ruach of
YAHWEH moving them at times, both instructing them what to say and exciting them
to say it.)
I will mention the loving kindnesses of YAHWEH, and the praises of YAHWEH, according to all that YAHWEH
has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Yisrael, which
HE hath bestowed on them according to HIS mercies, and according to the multitude of
HIS loving kindnesses. For HE said, Surely they are MY people, children that will not lie: so
HE was their
Saviour. In all their affliction HE was afflicted, and the malak (angel) of HIS
presence saved them: in HIS love and in HIS pity HE redeemed them; and HE bare them, and carried them all the days of
old. But they rebelled, and vexed HIS SetApart (Qadash)
Ruach: therefore HE was turned to be their enemy,
and HE fought against them. Then HE remembered the days of old, Moshe
(Moses), and HIS
people, saying, Where is HE that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of
HIS flock? where is HE that put HIS SetApart
Ruach within him? YeshaYahu (Isaiah)
63:7-11 (YAHWEH does perfect because HE is perfect.)
As a beast goes down into the valley, the
Ruach of YAHWEH caused him to rest: so
did YOU lead YOUR people, to make YOURSELF an excellent NAME. YeshaYahu 63:14 (The
Ruach of YAHWEH
gave them rest according to the promise.)
And the Ruach of YAHWEH fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith YAHWEH; Thus have
you said, O house of Yisrael: for I know the things that come into your mind,
every one of them. Yehezqel (Ezekiel)11:5 (YAHWEH knows not only the things
that come out of our mouths, but the things that come into our minds, not only
all we say, but all we think.)
Afterwards the Ruach took me up, and brought me in a vision by the
Ruach of
YAHWEH into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
Yehezqel 11:24 (It is better to be in Babylon under the favour of YAHWEH than
in Yerusalem under HIS wrath and curse.)
And I will put MY Ruach within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and
you shall keep
MY judgments, and do them Yehezqel 36:27.(Since our inclination is to sin,
YAHWEH will cause us to walk in HIS statutes and thoroughly furnish us with
wisdom and will, and active powers, for every perfect work.)
The hand of YAHWEH was upon me, and carried me out in the
Ruach of YAHWEH, and set me down in the midst of the valley which
was full of bones, Yehezqel 37:1 (The vision of a resurrection from death to
life.)
And shall put MY Ruach in you, and you shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall
you know that I YAHWEH have spoken
it, and performed it, saith YAHWEH. Yehezqel 37:14 (When troubles continue
long, hopes have been often frustrated, nothing but an active faith in the
power, promise, and providence of YAHWEH will keep from dying away.)
Neither will I hide MY face any more from them: for I have poured out MY
Ruach upon the house of
Yisrael, saith the Sovereign YAHWEH. Yehezqel 39:29 (A declaration of YAHWEH'S
purpose concerning HIS people.)
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out MY
Ruach upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out MY
Ruach. Yoel 2:28-29 (YAHWEH'S
Ruach shall be poured out plentifully in a
full stream, as was promised.)
O you that are named the house of Ya'aqob, is the
Ruach of YAHWEH straitened?
are these HIS doings? do not MY Words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
Mikah (Micah) 2:7 (The punishment made to answer the sin.)
But truly I am full of power by the
Ruach of YAHWEH, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Yacob his transgression, and to
Yisrael his sin. Mikah 3:8 (He had an ardent love to YAHWEH and to the souls
of men, a deep concern for HIS honour and their salvation, and a flaming zeal
against sin.)
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith YAHWEH; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high
kohen (priest); and be strong, all you people of the land, saith YAHWEH, and work: for I
am with you, saith YAHWEH of hosts: According to the Word that I Covenanted with you when
you came out of Egypt, so
MY Ruach remains among you: fear you not. Chaggai (Haggai) 2:4-5 (It was the
Ruach
of YAHWEH that stirred up their Ruwachs to come out of Babylon.)
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the Word of YAHWEH unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by
MY Ruach, saith YAHWEH of hosts. ZecharYah (Zachariah) 4:6 (When the work is finished
it must be thankfully acknowledged that it was not by any power of our own, but
that it was YAHWEH'S love that did it-YAHWEH'S goodwill towards us and HIS good
work in us and for us.)
Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the Law, and the
Words which YAHWEH of hosts hath sent in HIS
Ruach by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from YAHWEH of hosts.
ZecharYah 7:12
The reason why men are not good is because they will not be so; they will
not consider, will not comply; and therefore YAHWEH says, if you scorn, you alone
shall bear it.
