YAHSHUA The Messianic Bearer
of the
Ruach
For YAHWEH was with HIM
In the Old Covenant the conception of a Messianic bearer of the Ruach plays little part. It appears more explicitly in the postcanonical literature, as, e.g., in an echo of YeshaYahu's prophecy: "YAHWEH of Ruach seated HIM on the throne of HIS majesty, and the Ruach of righteousness was poured out upon HIM." The idea that the future MESSIYAH would be the bearer of the Ruach became fuses with the expectation of a universal outpouring of the Ruach at the end of the present age. The general blessings of the future are associated particularly with the resting of the Ruach upon MESSIYAH, and the Covenant of Levi, if it is to be reckoned as a pre-SetApart ones document, affords evidence for the hope that as a consequence of the saving power of the "high kohen-" (priest) the Ruach of YAHWEH will come upon HIS people.
The New Covenant fulfillment of hope
The New Covenant sees the fulfillment of the hope of a Ruach-filled MESSIYAH in the coming of the Ruach upon YAHSHUA at HIS baptism, "MattitYahu (Matthew) 3:16 "And YAHSHUA, when HE was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto HIM, and He saw the Ruach of YAHWEH descending like a dove, and lighting upon HIM:" Mark 1:10 "And straightway coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Ruach like a dove descending upon HIM:" Luke 3:21 "Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that YAHSHUA also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened," Yochanan 1:33 "And I knew HIM not: but HE that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom you shall see the Ruach descending, and remaining on HIM, the same is HE which baptized with the Ruach Ha Kodesh." when "YAHWEH Anointed YAHSHUA of Nazareth with the Ruach Ha Kodesh and with power."
