Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine: And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates. Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto YAHWEH thy FATHER in the place that HE shall choose: because YAHWEH thy FATHER shall bless thee all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.
In the seventh Scriptural month the harvesting from the threshing-floors and the winepresses would have been completed. The feast days were a celebration for all that YAHWEH had done for the people. They celebrated the harvest that YAHWEH had blessed them with for they knew that all blessings were from HIM. The Last Great Day was the conclusion of the feasts. They did no work on the Last Great Day but devoted the day unto thanksgiving and prayer.
We have looked at the literal aspect of The Last Great Day but let’s consider what the spiritual aspect may hold. The Last Great Day could be likened to YAHSHUA’S great return. The whole week of the feast days before the Last Great Day are spent preparing for the final day of the feasts, much the same way that we should be striving to prepare ourselves for YAHSHUA’S return.
The final Last Great Day at YAHSHUA’S return will hold for us great joy. It will be the great wedding day of the Bride of MESSIYAH to MESSIYAH HIMSELF. Our SAVIOUR will return to us and we will be filled with praise and thanksgiving to the ONE who loves us. It will be a day of untold bliss. Our hearts will be comforted as we rest eternally with YAHSHUA MESSIYAH.
So as we near the Last Great Day let us keep in mind the spiritual attribute as well as the literal. Let us give thanks and pray in preparation for the Final Last Great Day when YAHSHUA MESSIYAH will return and all earthly things will be brought to an end.
