Hypocrisy Reproved

YESHAYAH - ISAIAH 58:1 Cry {kaw-raw' utter a loud sound, address by name, call and endow}  aloud {gaw-rone' open sepulchre neck, throat},  spare {khaw-sak' withhold, restrain, hold back, keep in check, refrain} not, lift up your voice like a shofar, and show MY people their transgression {peh'-shah' rebellion}, and the Beit Yacob their sins.

Hosea or Hoshea or Oshea = "salvation".

HOSHEA - HOSEA 1:2 The beginning of the Word of YHWH by Hosea. And YHWH said to Hosea, Go, take to you a wife of whoredoms {zaw-noon'} and children of whoredoms: for the land has committed great whoredom, departing from YHWH.

HOSHEA - HOSEA 1:6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And YHWH said to him, Call her name Loruhamah {lo roo-khaw-maw' no mercy} : for I will no more have mercy {raw-kham'  love deeply compassionate} upon the house of Yisrael; but I will utterly take them away.

HOSHEA - HOSEA 1:9 Then said YHWH, Call his name Loammi {lo am-mee' not my people}: for you are not my people, and I will not be your ABBA.

The Idolatry Of The People

HOSHEA - HOSEA 2:13 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim {bah'-al' lords}, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgot {shaw-kakh' ignore} ME, says YHWH.

The Prophet Enters Into A New Contract, Representing The Manner In Which YHWH Will Again Restore Yisrael Under A New Covenant
HOSHEA - HOSEA 3:1 Then said YHWH to me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress {naw-af'}, according to the love of YHWH toward the children of Yisrael, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

YHWH's Judgments Against The Sins Of The People

HOSHEA - HOSEA 4:1 Hear the Word of YHWH, you children of Yisrael: for YHWH has a controversy {reeb' strife, quarrel} with the inhabitants of the land, because there is No Truth, nor Mercy, nor knowledge of YHWH in the land.

The Kohen Have Rejected Knowledge

HOSHEA - HOSEA 4:6 MY people are destroyed {daw-mam'}  for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected  {maw-as' despise, refuse} knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no kohen to ME: seeing you have forgotten {shaw-kakh' ignored} the Torah of YHWH your ALMIGHTY, I will also forget your children
HOSHEA - HOSEA 4:7 As they were increased, so they sinned against ME: therefore will I change their great honor into shame {kaw-lone'}.

Idolatry Is Reproved, And Yahudah Is Admonished

HOSHEA - HOSEA 4:12 MY people ask counsel at their stocks {ates'}, and their staff declares to them: for the spirit of whoredoms has caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under YHWH their ABBA.

YHWH's Judgments Against Yisrael

HOSHEA - HOSEA 5:4 They will not change their doings to turn to YHWH their ABBA: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known {yaw-dah'} YHWH.

Their Treacherous  Acts against YHWH

HOSHEA - HOSEA 5:7 They have dealt treacherously {baw-gad' deceitfully, faithless}  against YHWH: for they have begotten strange {zoor} children: now shall a month devour them with their portions
*“Strange” is a synonym for gentiles. Yisrael has brought forth strange gentile children before YHWH.

Approaching Desolations Threatened

HOSHEA - HOSEA 5:8 Blow {taw-kah' blast} you the shofar in Gibeah, and the trumpets in Ramah: cry {roo-ah' shout, raise a sound, give a blast} aloud at Bethaven, after you, O Benjamin {bin-yaw-mene'}.
HOSHEA - HOSEA 5:9 Ephraim {ef-rah'-yim} shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Yisrael have I made known that which shall surely be.
 *Efrayim, or the ten tribes would cease as recognizable Yisraelites, as they would assimilate with the gentiles, and thus be indistinguishable from them. YHWH announced this to all Yisrael ahead of the actual events.
HOSHEA - HOSEA 5:10 The princes of Yahudah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out MY wrath {eb-raw' outpouring, overflow, excess, fury, wrath, arrogance} upon them like water.
* They also perverted the Torah
HOSHEA - HOSEA 5:11 Ephraim {ef-rah'-yim} is oppressed {aw-shak' do violence, deceitfully, wrong, extort} and broken in MY mishpat, because he willingly walked after the commandment {tsav' A popular idol, in mocking}.

Yisrael's Instability And Breach Of The Covenant

HOSHEA - HOSEA 6:4 O Ephraim {ef-rah'-yim' second son of Yoseph, blessed by him and given preference over first son, Manasseh-northern kingdom}, what shall I do to you? O Yahudah {yeh-hoo-daw' YHWH praised, son of Yacob by Leah - kingdom comprised of the tribes of Yahudah and Benjamin}, what shall I do to you? for your kheh'-sed' kindness-faithfulness, is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goes away.
HOSHEA - HOSEA 6:5 Therefore have I hewed {khaw-tsab'} them by the neviim; I have slain {haw-rag' kill, slay, destroy, to smite with deadly intent} them by the words {ay'-mer' utterance, speech, word, saying, promise, command} of MY mouth: and MY mishpatim are as the light that goes forth.
* YHWH has done everything He can to bring both houses to their senses
HOSHEA - HOSEA 6:6 For I desired mercy  {kheh'-sed}, and not sacrifice {zeh'-bakh}; and the knowledge {dah'-ath' discernment, understanding, wisdom} of YHWH more than burnt offerings.
HOSHEA - HOSEA 6:7 But they like Adam they have transgressed {aw-bar' pass over, cross, cross over, march over}  the covenant {ber-eeth' alliance, pledge}: there have they dealt treacherously {baw-gad' deceitfully, unfaithfully, } against ME.

YeremiYah's Call To The Prophetic Office

YERMEYAH - JEREMIAH 1:4 Then the Word of YHWH came to me, saying,
YERMEYAH - JEREMIAH 1:5 Before I formed {yaw-tsar' fashion, frame} you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified {kaw-dash'} you, and I ordained {naw-than' set} you a navi to the nations.
* All true ordinations must originate from YHWH
YERMEYAH - JEREMIAH 1:6 Then said I, Ah, Sovereign YHWH! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child {nah'-ar' boy, lad, servant},
YERMEYAH - JEREMIAH 1:7 But YHWH said to me, Say not, I am a child: for you shall go to all that I shall send you, and whatsoever I
command {tsaw-vaw'} you you shall speak.
YERMEYAH - JEREMIAH 1:8 Be not afraid of their faces {paw-neem'}: for I am with you to deliver you, says YHWH.
* A true prophet cannot care what people say either in words, or by facial rejection
YERMEYAH - JEREMIAH 1:9 Then YHWH put forth HIS Hand, and touched my mouth. And YHWH said to me, Behold, I have put MY Words in your mouth {peh}.
YERMEYAH - JEREMIAH 1:10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root {naw-thash' to pull/pluck up, o tear away, destroy, forsake, pluck out, up, by the roots} out, and to pull {naw-thats' break down, cast down, throw down, beat down, destroy, overthrow, break out (teeth)} down, and to destroy {aw-bad' kill, cause to perish, to give up (as lost)}, and to throw {haw-ras' tear down, break down, overthrow, beat down, break, break through, destroy, pluck down, pull down, throw down, ruined, destroyer, utterly} down, to build {baw-naw' establish, cause to continue}, and to plant {naw-tah' establish}.

HOSHEA - HOSEA 12:13 And by a {naw-bee'} YHWH brought Yisrael out of Egypt, and by a {naw-bee'} was he preserved.
