1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:22 And Solomon stood before the altar of YHWH in the presence of all the congregation {kaw-hawl'} of YisraYah, and spread forth his hands toward the shamayim.

YAHSHUA's Ascension

LUKAS - LUKE 24:50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and HE lifted up HIS hands, and blessed them.

1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:23 And he said, YHWH the great Sovereign Ruler of YisraYah, there is no other like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keep covenant and mercy with your servants that walk before you with all their lev.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:24 Who has kept with your servant Dawid my ahvot that YOU promised {daw-bar'} him: YOU spoke also with YOUR mouth, and has fulfilled it with YOUR hand, as it is this day.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:25 Therefore now, YHWH the great Sovereign Ruler of YisraYah, keep with YOUR servant Dawid my abba that YOU promised him, saying, There shall not fail {kaw-rath' cut off , eliminate, kill} for you to have a man in MY sight to sit on the kesay of YisraYah; so that your children take heed {shaw-mar'} to their way, that they walk before ME as you have walked before ME.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:26 And now, O YHWH my ABBA of YisraYah, let YOUR word, I pray {naw' entreaty or exhortation, pleased} YOU, be verified {aw-man' to support, confirm, be faithful}, which YOU spoke to YOUR servant David Dawid my abba.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:27 But will YHWH indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain {kool' measure, calculate} YOU; how much less this Bayit that I have built.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:28 Yet have you respect {paw-naw' to turn towards} to the prayer {tef-il-law' intercession, supplication; by implication, a hymn} of YOUR servant, and to his supplication {tekh-in-naw' entreaty} , O YHWH my ABBA, to shaw-mah' to the cry {rin-naw' ringing cry of entreaty, supplication in proclamation, joy, praise} and to the prayer, which your servant prays {paw-lal'} before YOU to day.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:29 That YOUR eyes {ah'-yin} may be open toward this Bayit night {lah'-yil} and day {yome}, even toward the place of which YOU have said, MY Name shall be there: that YOU may shaw-mah to the prayer {tef-il-law'} which YOUR servant shall make toward this place.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:30 And listen to the supplication {tekh-in-naw'} of YOUR servant, and of YOUR people YisraYah, when they shall pray  {paw-lal'} toward this place: and listen in the shamayim YOUR dwelling place: and when YOU hear, forgive {saw-lakh' pardon}.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:31 If any man trespass {khaw-taw' to sin, miss the way, go wrong, incur guilt} against his neighbor {ray'-ah' companion, friend, husband, lover}, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before YOUR altar in this Bayit.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:32 Then hear in the shamayim, and do, and judge YOUR servants, condemning {raw-shah'} the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the tzadik, to give him according to his tzedakah.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:33 When YOUR people YisraYah are smitten {naw-gaf'} down before the enemy  {o-yabe'}, because they have sinned {khaw-taw'} against YOU, and shall turn {shoob} again to YOU, and confess {yaw-daw' especially to revere or worship with extended hands; intensively, to bemoan by wringing the hands} YOUR Name, and pray {paw-lal'}, and make supplication for favor to YOU in this Bayit.
* Not merely making repentance but confessing the Name of YHWH.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:34 Then hear the shamayim, and forgive the sin of YOUR people YisraYah, and bring them again to the land which YOU gave to their ahvot.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:35 When the shamayim are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against YOU; if they pray {paw-lal'} toward this place, and confess YOUR Name, and turn from their sin, when YOU afflict {aw-naw' afflict, oppress, humble, be afflicted, be bowed down} them.
* Confess His true Name
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:36 Then hear in the shamayim, and forgive {saw-lakh'} the sin of YOUR servants, and of YOUR people YisraYah, that YOU teach them the tov way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon YOUR land, which YOU have given to YOUR people for an inheritance {nakh-al-aw' possession, property, inheritance, heritage}.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:37 If there be in the land famine {raw-awb'}, if there be pestilence {deh'-ber'  plague, cattle disease}, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness {makh-al-eh' disease} there be.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:38 What prayer {tef-il-law'} and supplication {tekh-in-naw'}  is made by any man, or by all YOUR people YisraYah, which shall know every man the plague of his own lev, and spread forth his hands toward this Bayit?
*Praying and worshipping with lifted hands is a Yisraelite custom, not one started by the so-called church.
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 8:39 Then hear you in the shamayim your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose  lev YOU know; for YOU, even YOU only, know the levim of all the children of men.

IYOB - JOB 21:15 What is YHWH El Shaddai, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray {tefillah} to him?
