Myrrh: One of the Herbs Given To YAHSHUA At HIS Birth
Myrrh, one of the spices brought to YAHSHUA MESSIYAH when he was born, has many uses. The Egyptians used myrrh in the preservation of mummies and they burned it to rid their homes of fleas.
Myrrh is a remedy for numerous infections such as canker sores, cold sores, common cold and sore throat. Myrrh has been called the "herbal breath freshener" because it relieves bad breath and dental conditions such as pyorrhea when diluted with water and used as a mouth wash.
Myrrh is one of the best antiseptics known. It is commonly applied as a disinfectant to wounds. Combined with goldenseal it can be made into a salve treatment for hemorrhoids and bedsores. It relieves athletes foot and brings order to the digestive tract by promoting cleansing of the colon and treating indigestion and gas.
Myrrh has been successful in treating bleeding disorders such as painful and suppressed menses. It has also been used to treat leprosy, syphilis, arthritis, ulcers, phlegm, bronchial congestion, and has improved long term sinus concerns.
Myrrh, however, should not be taken during pregnancy because it stimulates the uterine and could cause premature labor or miscarriage.
Suggested Applications
1. For infections and head colds take up to 20-40 drops of tincture of myrrh. Dilute well with water.
2. For a mouth wash for sore throats and mouth ulcers use 20-40 drops of tincture in half a cup of water.
3. As a douche use diluted tincture for yeast infections.
4. Dilute 10 drops of oil in lotion for hemorrhoids.
5. For bronchitis and colds with thick phlegm use 1 ml of myrrh oil in 15 ml of almond oil or sunflower oil.
