I Cook With My
Heart
Stayed On YAHWEH
My name is Latosha. I am
twenty years old and I have been living at YAHWEH's
Victory Community for six years. I began
cooking when I was sixteen and it has been a pleasure! When I cook, I cook with
my heart stayed on YAHWEH, for HE is the one that keeps the food tasting good! I
love to cook and make new dishes that even I have never tasted! Some days are
longer than others, because sometimes the Brothers who hold jobs off the
community stay home. So we have to cook more on those days.
The best part is watching the Saints eat what you have prepared. So, even after a hard day's work in the kitchen, I am filled with the joy of YAHWEH knowing my mission was accomplished.
Here is one of my most used dishes. From time to time I'll put different recipes up.
Victory's Baked Chicken
1 bag of chicken thighs and drumsticks
1 whole onion
1/2 cup minced garlic
2 cups of ranch dressing
salt to taste.
Cooking time: 30 minutes to an hour
1. Blend onion, minced garlic, and salt
in a blender
2. Pour over chicken and mix together well. Let this stand overnight.
3. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
4. Put chicken in pan with some or all of the juice from the onion mixture.
Place in oven and when you see it is cooking good, turn oven down to 450
degrees.
5. Make sure, when checking chicken, to take a basting brush and baste the
chicken with the juices. This will keep the chicken from drying out. If the
juice begins to cook away, add water.
Praise YAHWEH!
