AV -- crucify (46)
1) to stake, drive down stakes
2) to fortify with driven stakes, to palisade: a place
3) to crucify
3a) to crucify one
3b) metaph. to crucify the flesh, destroy its power utterly (the nature of the figure implying that the destruction is attended with intense pain) crucifixion was in use among the Egyptians, Gen. 40:19, the Carthaginians, the Persians, Est. 7:10, the Assyrians, Scythians, Indians, Germans, and from the earliest times among the Greeks and Romans. Whether this mode of execution was known among the ancient Jews is a matter of dispute. Probably the Jews borrowed it from the Romans. It was unanimously considered the most horrible form of death. Among the Romans the degradation was also a part of the infliction, and the punishment if applied to freemen was used only in the case of the vilest criminals. The one being crucified was stripped naked of all his clothes, and then followed the most awful moment of all. He was laid down upon the implement of torture

GALUTYAH - GALATIANS 5:18-25

18 But if you be led of the Ruach, you are not under the torah.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of YAHWEH.

22 But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, shalom, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no torah.

24 And they that are MessiYah's have impaled the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Ruach, let us also walk in the Ruach.

Believers Are United To YAHSHUA, That They May Bring Forth Fruit To YAHWEH

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 7:1

1 ¶ Know you not, brethren, for I speak to them that know the torah, how that the torah has dominion over a man as long as he lives?

2 For the woman which has an husband is bound by the torah to her husband so long as he lives; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the torah of her husband.

3 So then if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that torah; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

4 Wherefore, my brethren, you also are become dead to the torah by the body of ha MessiYah; that you should be married to another, even to Him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit to YAHWEH.

5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the torah, did work in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

6 But now we are delivered from the torah, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in renewal of Ruach, and not in the oldness of the letter.

The Use And Excellence Of The Torah

7 ¶ What shall we say then? Is the torah sin? YAHWEH forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the torah: for I had not known lust, except the torah had said, You shall not covet.

8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the torah sin was dead.

9 For I was alive without the torah once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be to death.

11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

12 Wherefore the torah is kodesh, and the commandment kodesh, and just, and good.

13 Was then that which is good made death to me? YAHWEH forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

The Spiritual Conflicts Between Corruption And Love In A Believer

14 ¶ For we know that the torah is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent to the torah that it is good.

17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.

21 I find then a torah, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the torah of YAHWEH after the inward man:

23 But I see another torah in my members, warring against the torah of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the torah of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank YAHWEH through YAHSHUA ha MessiYah our Savior. So then with the mind I myself serve the torah of YAHWEH; but with the flesh the torah of sin.

8 ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8

The Freedom Of Believers From Condemnation

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:1

1 ¶ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in ha MessiYah, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Ruach.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:2

2 For the torah of the Ruach of life in YAHSHUA ha MessiYah has made me free from the torah of sin and death.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:3

3 For what the torah could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, YAHWEH sending HIS own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:4

4 That the righteousness of the torah might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Ruach.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:5

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Ruach the things of the Ruach.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:6

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to have a ruach mind is Life and shalom.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:7

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against YAHWEH: for it is not subject to the torah of YAHWEH, neither indeed can be.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:8

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please YAHWEH.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:9

9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Ruach, if so be that the Ruach of YAHWEH dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Ruach of ha MessiYah, he is none of HIS.

Their Privileges As Being The Children Of YAHWEH

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:10

10 ¶ And if ha MessiYah be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Ruach is Life because of righteousness.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:11

11 But if the Ruach of HIM that raised up YAHSHUA from the dead dwell in you, HE that raised up ha MessiYah from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by HIS Ruach that dwells in you.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:12

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:13

13 For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Ruach do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:14

14 For as many as are led by the Ruach of YAHWEH, they are the sons of YAHWEH.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:15

15 For you have not received the Ruach of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Ruach of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba YAHWEH.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:16

16 The Ruach itself bears witness with our ruach, that we are the children of YAHWEH:

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:17

17 ¶ And if children, then heirs; heirs of YAHWEH, and joint-heirs with ha MessiYah; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also approved together.

Their Hopeful Prospects Under Tribulations

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:18

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the manifested perfection of HIS character (glory) which shall be revealed in us.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:19

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of YAHWEH.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:20

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of Him who has subjected the same in hope,

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:21

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the splendid liberty of the children of YAHWEH.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:22

22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:23

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Ruach, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to know, the redemption of our body.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:24

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for?

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:25

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Their Assistance From The Spirit In Prayer

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:26

26 ¶ Likewise the Ruach also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Ruach itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:27

27 And He that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Ruach, because He makes intercession for the kidushim according to the will of YAHWEH.

Their Interest In The Love Of YAHWEH

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love YAHWEH, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:29

29 ¶ For whom HE did foreknow, HE also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of HIS Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:30

30 Moreover whom HE did predestinate, them HE also called: and whom HE called, them HE also justified: and whom HE justified, them HE also honored.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:31

31 ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If YAHWEH be for us, who can be against us?

Their Final Triumph, Through YAHSHUA

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:32

32 HE that spared not HIS own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall HE not also with Him grant us everything?

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:33

33 Who shall lay anything to the charge of YAHWEH's elect? It is YAHWEH that justifies.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:34

34 Who is he that condemns? It is ha MessiYah that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of YAHWEH, who also makes intercession for us.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:35

35 Who shall separate us from the love of ha MessiYah? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:36

36 As it is written, For your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:37

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loves us.

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:38

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor malakim, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

ROMIYAH - ROMANS 8:39

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of YAHWEH, which is in YAHSHUA ha MessiYah our Savior.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:33

33 ¶ And when they were come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:34

34 They gave Him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when He had tasted thereof, He would not drink.

YAHSHUA ha MessiYah Is Crucified

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:35

35 And they crucified Him, and parted His garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted My garments among them, and upon My vesture did they cast lots.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:36

36 And sitting down they watched Him there; Then were there two thieves crucified with Him

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:37

37 And set up over His head His accusation written, THIS IS YAHSHUA THE KING OF THE YAHUDIM.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:38

38 Then were there two thieves crucified with Him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:39

39 And they that passed by reviled Him, wagging their heads,

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:40

40 And saying, You that destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save Yourself. If You be the Son of YAHWEH, come down from the stake.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:41

41 Likewise also the chief kohenim mocking Him, with the scribes and elders, said,

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:42

42 He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He be the King of Yisrael, let Him now come down from the stake, and we will believe Him.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:43

43 He trusted in YAHWEH; let HIM deliver Him now, if HE will have Him: for He said, I am the Son of YAHWEH.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:44

44 The thieves also, which were crucified with Him, cast the same in his teeth.

The Death Of YAHSHUA

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:45

45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land to the ninth hour.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:46

46 And about the ninth hour YAHSHUA cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My ALMIGHTY, My ALMIGHTY, why have YOU forsaken Me?

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:47

47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calls for EliYah.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:48

48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave Him to drink.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:49

49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether EliYah will come to save Him.

MATTITYAHU - MATTHEW 27:50

50 ¶ YAHSHUA, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the Ruach.
