Pastor David Roberts,
Blessings from father God the Almighty be unto you, your family and church. I praise God who has led me to your well crafted website. Your vision and mission has moved our heart to write and ask you to allow us to share with you the spiritual heavenly blessings in this wonderful church of God.
We kindly ask you to allow us to be part of your wonderful and spiritual church. We had a good church with active congregations in East Africa, but a terrible confusion arose in 2006 that splits the brothers and sisters who were once working as a team of soldiers. We tried effortlessly to rectify some few points using biblical resolutions without any success.
Our church was formed in 2000 as small fellowship group, but in 2004 we became part of the Apostolic Church of God Seventh Day (ACOG7THD) that has its headquarters in Canada. Before the split we had 30 churches. Twenty were in Tanzania while Kenya had 10 churches. Currently we have only 15 churches; 8 in Kenya and 7 are in Tanzania. Most of the believers have backslides, while very few have joined- other congregations, but if you could allow us in the fold, we trust that they can all come back and the name of our living God would be highly glorified.
It has taken us over 5 years to find you people. We therefore ask you very humbly to allow us to share the abundant spiritual blessings in the Church of God. Your Vision and mission NOT printed here below has moved us so dearly to write and request you kindly to take this humble plea into your deep considerations. We write to you as a team, not individual.
We’ll be ready always to respond and feed you with any information you might need to know from us.May whoever got this mail send us a reply.
May you be blessed,
Yours in His service,
Rev.Nelson and team of brethren.
It is written:
When Israel was a youth I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My Son.
Matthew 2:14, 15
And he arose and took the Child and His mother by night, and departed for Egypt;
and was there until the death of Herod, that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, “Out of Egypt did I call My Son.”
As Jesus is the true Israel according to Scripture, He is also the true seed of Abraham for it is also written in the Scriptures:
Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed." – Galatians 3:7,8 (ESV)
and as Jesus is the true Israel and Seed of Abraham, the promises of God were made not to natural Israel, but to Abraham and to Christ, for again it is written in the Scriptures:
Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, "And to offsprings," referring to many, but referring to one, "And to your offspring," who is Christ. – Galatians 3:16 (ESV).
There is one plan of redemption throughout history, by faith in Christ, the faith of Abraham, for it is also written in Scripture:
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. –Galatians 3:27-29 (ESV)
Thus there is only one true Israel, Jesus Christ, and none other; one redemptive plan of salvation throughout all history; one Gospel; one people of God –the Church, the Israel of God-by faith having been united to Jesus Christ, the true Israel and made heirs according to the promise of God.
For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. – 2 Corinthians. 1:20 (ESV) [emphasis mine].
The Dismissal of Earthly Jerusalem as Spiritually Significant
Jesus said to her,
“Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” – John 4:21-24
Here, for the first time in the history of history, God tells us that earthly Jerusalem will no longer retain spiritual significance. Jesus tells us the time for that truth had arrived. That hour “is now here”. Under the Gospel, earthly places like Jerusalem no longer hold distinction as a spiritual place of worship. The time when men were to go to the temple in Jerusalem, attend feasts and observe outward ceremonies under the old covenant were now forever dismissed with the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus to the Father, with redemption of the elect now completed. God is seeking worshippers from every place, from every tribe and tongue to worship Him. Where one worships is no longer spiritually significant, the important thing is how, in “spirit and truth.”
4:20 on this mountain. Both Jews and Samaritans recognized that God had commanded their forefathers to identify a special place for worshipping Him (Deuteronomy. 12:5). The Jews, recognizing the Hebrew canon, chose Jerusalem (2 Samuel. 7:5-13; 2 Chronicles. 6:6). The Samaritans, recognizing only the Pentateuch, noted that the first place Abraham built an altar to God was at Shechem (Genesis. 12:6,7), which was overlooked by Mt. Gerizim, where the Israelites had shouted the blessings promised by God before they entered the Promised Land (Dueteronomy. 11:29,30). As a result, they chose Mt. Gerizim for the place of their temple.
4:21 neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem. There was no reason to debate locations, since both places would be obsolete soon and neither would have any role to play in the lives of those who genuinely worship God. Jerusalem would even be destroyed with its temple in 70 A.D. (italicized emphasis mine).
In one fell swoop, our Lord Jesus lets every child of Zion know with certainty, the entire company of the redeemed by way of the Gospel, that the spiritual significance of earthly Jerusalem in Palestine, along with the spiritual significance of every nation, is obliterated forever.
Under the New Covenant, through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the effectual calling of God, peoples from every tribe and tongue join the mystical community of faith, the Church! Glorious truth!
